Stuff Overload
I think I may actually need to summerise as there has been a shit load of things happeing this weekend and it has been awesome.
First off, on Friday we went to the train station at 3pm and met Phil and Richard. The que for train tickets was massive and the next train to Manchester was in 15 minutes. We actually got to that train the second it was about to leave and it was jam packed right to the exit doors. So therefore we had to try and get the other Manchester train which was half an hour later, which we did. Managed to get a four person seat and table as well so we didn't lose anybody! Woo! Whilst on the train we played spot the sheep, because we're strange. It was fun so there!
Arrived at Manchester at half past five which wasn't entirely good because the gig started at 6pm and we had to go to our hotel and check in. That seemed to take ages but eventually James and I were in a taxi on the way to the M.E.N arena. Once there we got some beer and headed into the main arena where it took my breath away it was so big. We had missed most of the first band which was Thine Eyes Bleed, but that was ok seeing as we didn't really know who they were anyway. Phil and Richard evenually found us and we all watch Children of Bodom together. They were sooo good! I am a fan of them anyway and they didn't fail to impress me. Next on were Lamb of God, wow those guys fucking rocked and have now climbed into my favourite bands list. After that was In Flames and they were shit, enough said. Finally it was the one and only SLAYER. And you shouldn't be asking me - of course they were AMAZING.
After the gig we got food and walked back to the hotel where Phil and Richard stayed. James and I decided to go to Gillys rock world. I can't even be bothered to explain what it was like but needless to say we left after an hour and a half and got subway and went back to the hotel for the night! I miss Corporation!
The morning after we got up and 9:30am and ate hotel breakfast which was yummy. We decided to look around Manchester for a bit as well. (Richard had gone by this point as he needed to get home) We started our wondering at Afflecks Palace which, for those of you who don't know, is a big alternative shopping centre. I ended up buying a Pantera hoody which I am in love with <3 then we went to this 'Cafe and shop' called rockers. It's the best place in the world. The cafe was set out like a 1950s American diner and sold american chocolate, brownies and rootbeer (as well as coffee and tea and stuff) and the shop was full of Lucky 13 merchandise. I nearly came in my pants.
Early evening we went back to Sheffield and went to James' mums house to watch Sheffield United play and drink beer. WE WON. Oh yes.
On Sunday we went to After Dark (That's Sheffields biggest firework display) which includes a funfair, lots of food and an entertainment stage. It was all good. The fireworks were cool and the burger was tasty. My only complaint was it was bloody freezing!
